  1. In this 4.9.8 update, is it necessary to use Gutenberg editor? or Classic.
Another question is that the upcoming update is termed with Gutenberg or not?

    1. 1and1help says:

      Hi Steven,

Gutenberg becomes standard in WordPress 5.0, so you can still use TinyMCE in the moment.
Currently, there is no official launch date for 5.0.

I don’t see “update” on my dashboard.

    1. 1and1help says:

Then your installation might be already on the latest version via auto-update function.

Scroll down in your WP dashboard, in the right corner you can see the current version of your WordPress installation.

  6. developer says:

Why hide theme Apperience from my dashboard , No theme is there help me please.

    1. 1 says:

We don’t hide general theme options for WordPress. If your theme is installed correctly, you can find the theme options at “Design > Customizer”. If your theme installs an own settings page, you should find more things there. Please read the theme manual for further informations.

    1. 1and1help says:

Sounds like you are not accessing the WordPress dashboard with an administrator user account.

Read more about roles and user permissions here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities

Please ask the administrator user of your WordPress installation to give you a role with which you can edit all the mentioned things.

  8. Hi Philip,

I couldn’t see the Gallery widget in my Widgets section. weird! what might be the issue?

    1. 1and1help says:

      Hi Thomas,

It depends on the theme and if it supports this widget. So if your theme is not updated since 4.8.x or doesn’t have sidebars in which you can add the Gallery widget, it might not be available in your individual case at all.

Maybe you consider to ask the theme developers about it.

      Best regards,
      Michael, 1&1
