How to update?

  • As always, Managed WordPress websites will be updated by 1&1 automatically.
In addition, we constantly protect your WordPress websites, through technical measures such as firewalls and filters, even before the updates have been implemented.
  • If you have installed WordPress yourself or use a standard installation from the 1&1 App Center, you can update to 4.9.6 from your WordPress Dashboard. From there, select Updates and click Update Now.

If you prefer to update manually, you can download WordPress 4.9.6 here.

With this last update, now, there is always a circled “1”, near the line “Settings / Privacy”. I can’t get rid of it, whatever settings I’m trying in this Privacy page.
    Do you know what’s happening?

      Hi Nicolas,

sorry haven’t seen that yet. Seems to be like the notifications you get if an update for plugins and themes is available. So maybe WordPress wants your attention that something new or an update is available inside the Privacy section.

Maybe you can get more informations in the WordPress support forum: https://wordpress.org/support/view/popular/

      Best regards,

With this update, should I need to update terms and policy of the site with GDPR compliant or not?

    1. 1and1help says:

GDPR updates for your data privacy/protection information should be made independently from the WordPress version. This link should help you to start: https://www.1and1.co.uk/help/privacy-policy/overview-of-the-general-data-protection-regulation-gdpr/
