WordPress 4.9.4 Update Available

WordPress 4.9.4 is now available for download for all earlier WordPress versions. With the publication of release 4.9.3 an error was introduced causing automatic updates to fail. Less than 24 hours later version 4.9.4 was published which contains a fix for said problem. The auto update is fully functional again with version 4.9.4.

If you have a Managed WordPress website, you have not been affected by this problem. You will automatically be getting the most current version and are not required to do anything yourself.

As always, Managed WordPress websites will be updated by 1&1 automatically. In addition, we constantly protect your WordPress websites, through technical measures such as firewalls and filters, even before the updates have been implemented.

If you have installed WordPress yourself or use a standard installation from the 1&1 App Center, you can update to 4.9.4 from your WordPress Dashboard. Select Updates and click Update Now.

If you prefer to update manually, you can download WordPress 4.9.4 here.

we can’t officially support or recommend external plugins. But if you ask me personally, I made very good experiences with the plugin “Updraft Plus” https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/

Maybe thats also something that does the job for you.

      Best regards,

I updated all my plugins and now i cant get access to my website at all. When i try and log in all i get is this :

Warning: file_put_contents(/homepages/24/d702069104/htdocs/app702239480//ads.txt): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /homepages/24/d702069104/htdocs/app702239480/wp-content/plugins/affilinet-performance-module/classes/Plugin.php on line 288

      Hi Aaron,

please connect to your webspace via ftp and navigate to the “/app..” folder and go into “/wp-content/plugins. Search for the folder for “affilinet-performance-module”. By renaming this folder your website should be visible again. Seems like the update broke something within this plugin.

      Best regards,
      Michael, 1&1
