Meet the new 1&1 WordPress Assistant

With the new 1&1 WordPress Assistant you can set up your site, pick a design you like and automatically install essential plugins in one step.

Many of you might have noticed the changes we introduced since November 2017. We released a new version of the 1&1 WordPress Assistant that was a lot friendlier while using the classic design approach.

We took the existing three-step-process that included a complicated plugin-selection page and replaced it with a simpler one-step-solution to help you set up a use case and a design (theme), choosing the recommended plugins for you automatically.

So, what changed in the last releases?

But, of course, progress never stops and the plan wasn’t to end there. We wanted to help you focus on your goals using a distraction-free design.

That’s why we rebuild the Assistant to have its own space, its own design, and an even clearer interface, by hiding unnecessary menus and elements.

Simplified design selection: While the functionalities of the Assistant stay roughly the same, with WordPress 4.9.3 we gave the use case & theme setup a makeover:

New login screen: The WordPress login screen has a new, matching look as well, taking you from the installation step to an almost live-ready website in a very smooth, yet pretty and uncomplicated way. Simply use your e-mail adress or WordPress username to login to your website.

And what’s for the future?

A lot of improvements and cool stuff will be coming next, as we want to continuously improve your WordPress experience and help you get online as quick as possible.

But the most important thing is: we want to work with you, for you! Your feedback is greatly appreciated and we will be glad to hear what you think in the comments section.

Hi there, I am so frustrated with my site. It seems that all the pages are available but not one will show up on my navigational taskbar. What am I doing wrong?

      Hi Colleen,

you might want to read more about menus and menu items (like page links as items) in WordPress here:

A lot themes have pre-definied menus for the site navigation already.. So you just have to configure your pages as menu items. For further informations you might visit the documentation section of the theme developer website.

      Best regards,
      Michael, 1&1
