I can not access neither to my website nor my backend since the wordpress 4.4 update made by 1&1 (“Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function wp() in /homepages/[…]”). Could you please help me ?
    Best regards

  4. Jim says:

I am using the Managed WordPress option and chosen the “Responsive” theme. This generates the following error
“Sorry, but you do not have the correct permissions to install the Responsive Add Ons, iFeature Slider and inSite for WP: Personalization Made Easy plugins. Contact the administrator of this site for help on getting the plugins installed.”

When I click on the Theme Options on the main dashboard menu I get the following error
    Error thrown

Function name must be a string

I do not understand why I am getting these errors when the theme was supposedly specially chosen and “Our team is constantly checking all themes for compatibility, optimal interaction with plugins and performance to ensure that all plugins and themes on your website are always perfectly coordinated.”

It certainly does not inspire confidence

    1. 1and1help says:

      Hi Jim,

the error “Function name must be a string” occurs because of a current issue of the theme in combination with PHP 7 (the version we use by default for Managed WordPress).

As a workaround please use “Appearance” > “Customize” instead to edit your theme settings.

      Kind regards,
      Michael, 1&1

  5. Nga Van says:

    Hello,
When I let 1&1 manage my WordPress site, I can’t add a meta keyword and meta description to my site. When I add a tagline in general setting, my site appear with a meta description, but the site title is so long and the SEO quality is so bad. Is there any ways for me to customize the SEO setting? I don’t want to switch to standard.
    Thank you for reading!

    1. 1and1help says:

      Hi Nga Van,

You might want to try the Yast SEO Plugin we offer in the Plugins section of your WordPress dashboard to optimize your site for search engines. It’s a really mighty tool!

      Best,
      Michael, 1&1
